The performance of the government during the war sealed its fate. All of the strains between government and society before the war were exacerbated during it. The royal family became increasingly unpopular. Some accused them of treason; others of immorality. In particular, the presence of Rasputin as the Empress Aleksandra's advisor and companion offended Russian public opinion. The empress was attached to Rasputin because he was able to control the hemophiliac bleeding of her son and the heir to the throne, Alexei. But her gratitude to Rasputin clouded her judgement. She listened to his advice about politics and the conduct of the war and tried to persuade her husband to follow Rasputin's suggestions. Occasionally he did, usually with bad results. Whether Rasputin was influential or not matters less than that the public believed that he was. How, they asked, could this man of loose morals, little education and no experience in public affairs be at the centre of Russian politics in a time of national crisis? His murder removed him, but the damage to the royal couple's reputation had already been done.

Did u ever hear the music of Rusputin?!
